Anibeth DesiertoAnibeth Desierto is active for NGOs in voluntary advocacy and support for local and migrant workers' rights and human rights through solidarity partnerships with UnionsWA, local unions, peace groups, workers' groups and churches. |
She assists in campaigns for minimum work conditions for migrant workers and against Workchoices and networks with government agencies at state and national levels and unions to help resolve workers' grievances.
Anibeth is a writer and teacher who believes that workers have built Australia and deserve a fair share of its produced wealth and are an important resource as valuable as the country's physical environment. She also believes that true democracy, freedom can only exist with continuous vigilance by all community members; and that human rights have to be protected by law.
Anibeth has a Masters in Education (Deakin University) and did her honours on Asian political economy.
