Johannes Herrmann

Johannes Herrmann has always looked for ways to make a difference to those around him. While at school he tutored younger students, as an undergraduate he worked with mentally challenged youths, continued tutoring and assisted in the development of several student associations, serving on a number of councils and assisting in writing the UWA Student Guild's first Social Justice Handbook.

While an academic at Curtin's campus in Borneo (Malaysia) he played a large part in the creation of the student body, including writing their constitution, counseled both students and staff members, and assisted with a number of student and community bodies including the Red Crescent. His voluntary services were recognized by both the university and various student bodies. He continues to volunteer as a tutor with a program for young refugees and is active with the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.

Johannes was born in Germany, and migrated to Australia with his family in 1979. Having this background has given him an insight into the special requirements of those who have taken the significant step of moving away from their homeland and Johannes therefore uses his academic skills to assist in their settlement.

Johannes believes that the Greens are the only party who can truly make a positive difference to Western Australia at this election.
