Let the media do its job
The Greens are deeply concerned about the recent police raid on the office of the Sunday Times
"The right to free speech must be at the core of our democracy," said Greens MLC Giz Watson.
"The media plays a crucial role in keeping the Government accountable - this watchdog must be defended," she said.
"This raid on the office of the Sunday Times involving 16 police officers in late April seems out of proportion considering the news-breaking article was already published in February," she said.
"Instead the Auditor General should be asked to investigate this matter and any possible misuse of taxpayers' money," said Ms Watson.
