Paul Llewellyn entered the Legislative Council in May as member for the South West region, replacing Dr Chrissy Sharp who decided not to recontest the seat at the 2005 election.

Paul is well known in the South West region for bringing a fresh energy to key issues such as native forest conservation, plantation industry development, and sensible regional planning.

After more than 25 years involvement in the political affairs of the South West Region, Paul has an intimate working knowledge of the people, the issues and needs of South West communities.

His children, Mandy and Tsepo have been raised and educated in the southwest, and with his partner Pam, Paul has worked and run businesses in the region. For many years he has been a Greens spokes-person on important issues such as native forest conservation, plantation industry development, mineral sand mining in National Parks, putting woodchips on rail in the Albany region, promoting renewable energy, and sensible regional planning urban development.

By standing for the Greens in State and Federal Elections, Paul has helped to build the organisation that provides an exciting new vision for our environment, our economy and our communities.

Paul brings new perspectives on planning and regional development, which will see local communities build their own future through innovative projects, careful long-term planning and creative design of rural centres. As a Member of Parliament, Paul aims to remain true to Greens principles, and stay strategically focused on things that are achievable and that deliver practical improvement in peoples lives.

Paul will be challenging but positive so that we can shift the balance in favour of ecologically and economically sustainable development. Paul favours being proactive, leading by example and inventing our own future with innovative solutions.

Paul Llewellyn has been a wind energy consultant, wood worker, builder, Solar designer and Environmental Planning and Management Consultant.
