The Greens (WA) believe in a future based on

  • social justice - all people, regardless of culture, class, race, age, gender, sexuality or nationality, are entitled to equal access to opportunity, justice and democracy.
  • grassroots, participatory democracy - people have a fundamental right and responsibility to be directly involved in the economic and political decisions that affect their lives and impact on the environment.
  • peace, nonviolence and disarmament - in a just, peaceful world free of violence. We call for nonviolence to be established as a core principle in all sectors of society.
  • ecological and economic sustainability - accepting that the future of all living things depend on the world's ecologies and biodiversity. The earth and its resources are finite and neither human impact nor population can continue to grow indefinitely.
